The Palace of Versailles

My friend Maren and I spent an entire afternoon/early evening at Versailles. Besides the fact that it was absolutely freezing, the sun was shining and there was hardly anyone at Versailles. I had been to Versailles once before but Maren had never been there so it was entertaining to watch her face once Versailles finally came into view! It is spectacular, isn’t it?

I think the photos below document our experience pretty well. Due to the lack of people there, we got a bit goofy : ) However, we had a blast exploring all the different rooms and the main garden right outside the palace. Next time, we are definitely going to explore the grounds a bit more!

Let them eat cake!

Thanks Maren for letting me use a bunch of your pictures! And thanks for catching all my wonderful moments! : )

  • Hi Jordan, Just went through your visit to Versailles which I found very pretty and very interesting. I wanted to say my sisters and I were born in Versailles, Pennsylvania. There is a historic marker when you enter the town but I can’t remember what it says. I think it mentions Versailles, France. It was a neat place to live as a kid and I lived there from 31 to 42 but returned many times after that. In the 30’s we had a steel mill, a coal mine, and an Amusement Park. Lots of love, Uncle Sonny
