If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Scotland, I’ve learned that the weather is constantly changing! Do you see what I see above? SNOW! Now I feel like it is only appropriate to share a photo of what Edinburgh looked like earlier in the day…

Calton Hill via Wayfaring With WagnerI’m really confused how the weather went from this (above) to snow in only a few hours. My sister and I have been talking about watching the sunset from Calton Hill in Edinburgh and decided that Saturday was the day. However, about halfway to the top of the hill, we began to encounter insanely high winds and snow. Seriously, crazy weather.

Calton Hill via Wayfaring With WagnerLet’s just say that we never saw the sunset! Oh well, I guess we will just have to try again later this year when a) it isn’t snowing and b) we get more than 5 hours of sunlight a day!

Calton Hill is really fascinating and a great place to view all of Edinburgh. It includes the National Monument of Scotland, the Nelson Monument, the Old Royal High School (New Parliament House), the Robert Burns Monument, the Political Martyrs’ Monument, the City Observatory, and St. Andrew’s House. Calton Hill is a staple of the city and an iconic location that gives you the best views of the city!

Calton Hill via Wayfaring With WagnerCan we just talk about how cool these leggings are? The company, Pins to Kill, are based out of Melbourne and make the coolest leggings! They’re in fun designs, great material, and don’t fall down (am I the only one who struggles with leggings always getting too low?!). They have been awesome to work with and provided me with this pair. Seriously, this pair is going on all my future trips!

Pins to Kill just launched today and I would highly recommend checking them out! The company really stood out to me because their vision is to “inspire people on a global level to be dream chasers.” Check out a video they produced below:

How cool are all those chicks?

Calton Hill via Wayfaring With WagnerThe view from Calton Hill gives two stunning views. The views from above overlook downtown and New Town Edinburgh as well as the water in the distance (can you see it?!). My goal this semester is to start exploring that area more because I tend to stay close to the Palace of Holyrood and surrounding area due to my apartment location!

If you want to find out more about Pins to Kill (or buy a pair of leggings!), check them out on their website or find them on Instagram and Facebook!

Even though this is a sponsored post, all opinions are my own. I would never share a product or experience I didn’t 100% love!

  1. Amazing photos. I love, love, love Edinburgh!

And yes, crazy weather. I often tell people that Scotland (and northern England) can experience all four seasons in one day, but nobody believes me. They prefer to stick with their stereotype that it just rains all day, every day.

  2. So cool, even if you didn’t get to see the sunset! So much history there, I can’t get over it. Tell us all the things!

  3. Some superb pictures looking across Edinburgh. I actually live and work in Edinburgh and often go up Carlton Hill with the dog. They also call the large greek style monument the “Athens of the north” Sorry the weather hasn’t been great of late, a lot of rain, snow and heavy winds! Thanks for the read though, enjoyed it!

  4. Love the photos! Four seasons in one day also happens in Melbourne! Very unpredictable but still fun! :)

  5. dang girl, you can jump! I actually like the atmosphere the weird weather lends to the photos… and luckily you live there and will be able to go back on a clear day. shouldn’t Michigan have prepared you for sun and snow in one day? ;)

  6. Scotland’s weather is totally insane! When I went in May I think we had every season within 1 hour. Calton Hill is one of my favourite spots in Edinburgh :)
