What’s better than beer and wonderful cupcakes for your birthday? I headed with friends to Munich to celebrate my 24th birthday! To be honest, the last (and only) time I was in Munich, I had a horrible experience so I was excited to go back and change my impression of the city! I definitely had a much better time the second time around : )
Enjoy some photos from my time there and look out for a more detailed post in the upcoming weeks!
Birthday pancakes. I carried candles around all day and put them in everything I ate : )
Birthday mimosa for breakfast!

View of Munich from above at St. Peter’s Church. Such gorgeous weather for my birthday!
The adorable couple that celebrated my birthday in Munich with me!

The New Town Hall of Munich on Marienplatz. Look at the famous Glockenspiel above!

Errrr, we got a bit distracted at the famous Hofbräuhaus! Entered when it was still light out and left when it was completely dark. Oops! Not complaining though : )

Guys, that was a lot of beer to drink. Seriously, so much beer!

Ended the night at Augustiner Keller with even more beer and great, traditional German food!
Thanks Brooke and Paul for a great time in Munich! And thanks Munich for pulling through with wonderful weather and even better beer!

YAY birthday pancakes!
I can never drink a mass of beer before it gets warm.
Gosh, drinking a mass is much harder than it looks!
Looks like you had a great birthday! Love that you carried candles around with you everywhere, so much fun! Did you have a chance to stop by the farmers market near Marienplatz, called viktualienmarkt? Love that place!
Yes! Actually I had breakfast right on Viktualienmarkt at a cute British restaurant 🙂 The market was going on the entire time we were there!
Yayyy what a good birthday celebration! I love that you put candles in everything throughout the day. The ceiling of the hofbrauhaus is CRAZY! I want to go there
The Hofbrauhaus was crazy! Yes, it was a bit touristy but I feel like it is something you need to do if you visit Munich!
Glad you had a great birthday! And it wouldn’t be a visit to Munich without a ton of beer, haha 😉
hahaha of course! And considering I’m Beer Time With Wagner…I have a reputation to uphold 😉
I love that you carried your birthday candles with you that day! haha Happy Birthday! I can’t wait to check out Munich… one of these days I will make a weekend adventure out of it!
haha thanks so much! You definitely need to head to Munich…where do you live again in Germany?
It looks like such a wonderful birthday with beautiful weather! And I like the way you think, everything you eat on your birthday should have candles in it!
haha, I love my birthday. Probably a bit toooo much but come on, it is the only day where it is acceptable to be “all about you” 😉 xo
HOW did we not take a photo together?
I thought the EXACT SAME THING! ughhhh, guess I’ll have to come back to Munich so we can get a picture together 😉
Gorgeous photos! I’ve not visited Munich yet so am looking forward to hearing all about it 🙂 Looks like you had a lovely birthday!
Awww thanks so much! You should definitely take a weekend trip there! I got super cheap tickets on Deutsche Bahn and it is a really manageable city 🙂
Happy birthday! (slightly belated…) Great photos, as always. Also, I’m a little jealous- I lived an hour from Munich for three years, and I was in the city many, many times, but somehow I never managed to get to the top of that tower. I’m not sure how I missed that.
Awww thanks so much Steven! How did you not to the top of the tower?! That’s what everyone told me to do!!! haha, guess you’ll just have to come back to Europe 😉
I’m happy you didn’t let one bad visit ruin Munich for you. It’s such a nice town (at least I think so).
It was so great and I had such a good experience the second time around!
“err, we got a little distracted” ha! Yay, what a greaaaat day! 😀 HBD again dear!
hahaha, typically me. Of course beer would distract me! xoxoxo
Happy belated birthday! Looks like you had a great time in Munich. I love your idea of carrying candles around by the way, I’m definitely doing that for my b’day in March! x
Carrying candles around makes everything better! Thanks so much for the birthday wishes 🙂 xo
Those birthday pancakes look too cute to eat! And I love the bright rooftops! I love to see a city from above.
Those pancakes may look cute but they were even more delicious!!! The view from above was definitely the best!
Happy belated birthday, Jordan!! I’m glad you were able to have a better time in Munich — it’s a city I’ve enjoyed the couple of times I’ve been there. Also: those beers are no joke, haha!
Hi Erika! So good to hear from you! I really enjoyed my time in Munich 🙂 I think 2015 is the year we finally meet. How much longer do you plan on staying in MI? xo
