As much as I love Germany and all the wonderful cities within Germany, London stole my heart many years ago. After living in that city for a summer, it always feels like I am coming home whenever I go to London. I spent the summer between my sophomore and junior year of university studying at the London School of Economics and interning in the House of Lords. To be honest, I spent that summer being as posh as possible…seeing the Royal Family (Kate Middleton!), going to the Royal Ascot (with a giant hat), attending Wimbledon, drinking champagne at polo matches, etc. It was probably the best summer of my life.
London was so Christmas-y! All the lighting was put up in the city and there was just that holiday spirit in the air. I was honored/excited/overwhelmed/happy to finally visit the first European J.Crew store, which only opened a few weeks ago in London! To be honest, I was like a little kid in a candy store (my entire closet is J.Crew, seriously!). Unfortunately, I only allowed myself to buy one shirt because everything was so expensive! They kept the same prices but just changed the dollar sign to the pound sign (so, in effect, everything was about double in price!).

Let’s be honest, London by day is just as pretty as London by night! I got to visit some of my favorite areas including Hammersmith and Sloane Square!

I stumbled across this farmer’s market on the South Bank of London near Waterloo. I never knew it existed but the food was delicious and very seasonal!
I decided I would save you all the headache of having to read my travel story from Frankfurt to London, which could easily be its own blog post. Major highlights: tram ran late, missed my bus to the airport, trains delayed to the airport, flight delayed, searched literally everything of mine during security, credit card frozen due to fraud (they thought me using it in London was fraud), got on the wrong train, etc! But nothing was going to stop me from getting to London during the Christmas season 🙂
